It is true. Linking subplots is a huge key to creating a properly interwoven story. Quite frankly, it shows you that there is always a way to plant a lead into any scene anywhere in your writing, and pick up where you left off. But when you get over zealous about planting you sometimes leave holes, but a good plant can always be a stand-alone, so even later, if never referenced again, it it was it is. That's how I look at it.

Mobo. That or processor is overheating. I've had the same issue with 2 computers back in the day. Cake Decoratign wLyn is on the button. Overheating. Check that your CPU fan is functioning, your thermal grease between the processor and board is still tacky and visible, and track how long it takes from start up til shutdown. The time is probably relatively the same (also depends on how hard you're using it).

Why not write it anyway?! What does a existing premise have to do with yours? There are no original ideas, just creatively reworked. I love the idea of us being put into competition to save our world. How many times have an alien race come to our planet and give us a fighting chance to keep the right to survive? Almost every alien movie out there.

Now, in terms of an "olympic style" sanctioned tournament, it makes for good dramedy (Drama + Comedy). Do it... can't hurt to throw another alien invasion story into the mix.

Computers can overheat and automatically shut down. I've seen them go into shutdown/reboot cycles because of overheating. Something to think about.

Haha I like this, an interesting point. Although the poodle would have to have some seriously strong teeth and a big mouth to carry a brick. I wonder if it gave it to the man who was smoking on the bus.
